Blue Sky Vision Adds EyeCare Associates to its Growing ECP Practice Portfolio

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Blue Sky Vision, a unit of the investment group Sterling Partners, announced Tuesday that it has invested in EyeCare Associates of Haslett and Perry, Mich. It is the second investment in the eyecare sector this month by Blue Sky Vision, which last week announced its investment in Sussex Vision Center, a three-location optometry practice in southwest Michigan, as VMAIL reported. “Blue Sky Vision has experienced an incredible 18 months of growth," Blue Sky Vision chief executive officer Bill Hughson said in the announcement. "Most recently, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming EyeCare Associates of Haslett and Perry to our growing family of practices.” No financial details of the transaction were disclosed. Blue Sky Vision, formerly Great Lakes MSO, was created in early 2017 through a partnership between Grand Rapids Ophthalmology and Sterling Partners, a diversified investment management platform founded in 1983 and based in Chicago. The announcement this week “reflects EyeCare Associates’ commitment to offering the most up-to-date products and services and ensuring that every patient receives quality eyecare with a personal touch,” Blue Sky Vision said. Dr. Robbie Pairolero, principal and optometrist at EyeCare Associates, said the practice has been serving Haslett, Perry and the surrounding areas since 2002. “As part of Blue Sky Vision, we’ll be able to leverage an entire network of support and gain access to additional service offerings. That’s a win for Dr. [Daniel] Langhorst, myself and our patients,” he said. EyeCare Associates provides an array of vision care services and a wide selection of eyecare products, including eyewear, sunwear and contact lenses. In addition to Sussex Vision Center and EyeCare Associates, Blue Sky Vision partners include: Vitreo-Retinal Associates, Michigan Optical, Shoreline Vision, Walker Surgical Center, Lakeshore Eye, Surgical Care Center of Michigan, and Grand Rapids Ophthalmology.
