Hong Kong singer and actor William Chan Wai-ting is the new global face of Ermenegildo Zegna XXX’s spring/summer 2019 campaign.
The 34-year-old Hongkonger made his start in Canto-pop group Sun Boyz before embarking on a solo career in 2008.
The singer has produced seven albums since then, alongside an acting career and ambassadorial roles.
Chan has more than 37 million followers on Chinese social platform Weibo.
William Chan stars in All the World’s a Stage, a video in the Defining Moments campaign which focuses on the ritual of dressing up and the fearlessness and confidence imbued in self-expression.
Chan’s role as the global face of Zegna will entail reprising the Defining Moments campaign in a film directed by Oscar-nominated Luca Guadagnino.
Two years ago, Zegna released a campaign video with actor Robert De Niro and French dancer Benjamin Millepied discussing their dreams and aspirations in New York.
The evolution of the campaign, which now features Chan, Robert Boyd Holbrook and André Holland, highlights Zegna’s shift towards a younger, more international demographic.
Holbrook is best known for his role as DEA Steve Murphy in Netflix series Narcos. For the film, Boyd showcases Zegna casualwear and its uses in one’s everyday commute.
Holland is the star of Oscar-winning film Moonlight. He identifies his personal style using Sartorial Su Misura in the campaign.
The summer campaign film, titled All the World’s a Stage, was shot in Milan. It focuses on the ritual of dressing up and the fearlessness and confidence imbued in self-expression.
