When he’s not directing Academy Award-nominated films and popping up at ultra-glam events, Tom Ford enjoys his status as one of the most celebrated fashion designers on the globe.

The Austin native, who launched his eponymous line in 2005 after years as the creative director Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, boasts 100 freestanding stores worldwide bearing his name — including one in the River Oaks District.

Now, the dramatically inclined Ford is creating a stir with news that his flagship River Oaks District store will relocate to the Galleria — just in time for the holidays. Stylish shoppers can expect to find Ford’s trademark women’s and men’s clothing, accessories, shoes, and sunglasses.

Formerly a Ralph Lauren space, the 4,000-square-foot Ford store will be located in The Galleria’s luxury wing that includes Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, and Saint Laurent, among others. Ford also announced a new store in Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, which is also owned by Galleria parent company, Simon Malls.

“Houston and Atlanta continue to be very strong markets for our business, and we look forward to serving our customers in these new stores,” Ford said in a statement.

With an estimated 30 millions shoppers strolling through the Galleria each year, Ford’s fashion house is sure to get a lot of looks.
