Dsquared2 Men's Spring 2020

A brilliant mix of film references and traditional menswear motifs, revamped for 2019.

Chinese culture was the starting point of the new Spring 2020 collection by Dsquared2. On a red lacquered catwalk, a color traditionally associated with good luck, Dean and Dan Caten staged a show co-ed infused with the energy of seventies Kung Fu films. Original Bruce Lee film prints came down the runway. The tiger, symbol of strength and vitality, is preciously embroidered on cotton canvas trousers, while colored spots chrysanthemums flourish on the revisited fit shirts with the characteristic pagoda sleeves. The references to Chinese culture inevitably flow into the refined choice of materials. The satin boxers with the collection's cult prints mark the silhouettes' waistline peeking out of the trousers, while flamboyant kimonos carve out their well-deserved space in the Dsquared2 wardrobe, knocking down any clichés and clothing barriers between East and West.
