For those yearning to relive carefree teenage summers, two iconic childhood brands of the ‘90s, Skechers and Snickers have come together to release a limited-edition sneaker collection that’s as hunger-inducing as it is trend-setting. Skechers has channeled the distinctive typography and the palette of red, white, blue and brown that have made the Snickers chocolate bar a cultural touchstone, in the process transforming three of its most recognisable silhouettes with multiple all-new colorways.
The classic D’Lites chunky unisex sneaker makes a compelling confectionary case, here presented in white, cream and black. Skechers and Snickers logos have been embossed across the upper as well as printed on the custom shoelaces, while hits of red and blue that echo the Snickers brand colors are apparent in the heel of the EVA sole unit and on the lace stays.
Next up is a bolder men’s sports sneaker design, which sees the Skechers and Snickers logos splashed in tandem across the streamlined jacquard mesh upper in the four colorways of red, white, blue and black. Co-branded shoelaces again make an appearance, while a LITE-WEIGHT memory foam footbed rounds out the silhouette.
Lastly, the women’s Go Run Focus running sneaker also receives the Snickers treatment in black, white and red colorways, paired with contrasting lace cage designs that incorporating proprietary M-Strike technology while the lightweight and responsive ULTRA GO™ cushioning increases performance qualities. While candy bars and fitness might seem like unlikely bedfellows, Snickers reference the findings of a study that claim that eating a chocolate bar before a high intensity run can help maintain blood sugar levels.
Available online now as well as at select retail stores, the Skechers x Snickers sneaker collaboration has been released alongside a sports clothing capsule for discerning snack and sneaker fiends. See the much-anticipated collection in action in the video below.
