The Italian group Marcolin, responsible for the eyewear lines of companies such as Tom Ford, Bally, Moncler, Ermeregildo Zegna, Victoria's Secret, Roberto Cavalli or Diesel, has just announced an agreement with the Swiss watch and jewelry manufacturer Swatch Group through which will go on to design, produce and distribute the men's and women's glasses collections of Omega and Longines. Two of the leading brands in the luxury group of the Swiss group.
The agreement, which will remain in force until December 2022 with a view to being renewed, has allowed the Italian company - one of the leading companies in the eyewear sector - to create a first collection for Longines, while developing a new line for Omega . Signature for whom Marcolin developed a first collection of sunglasses in 2016.
"The Omega eyewear collection created by the Marcolin Group has been manufactured in Italy with top quality materials and paying close attention to detail," Massimo Renon, executive director of Marcolin, said in a statement. That Omega highlighted that “entrepreneurial spirit, its long and deep experience in the luxury sector, as well as its precision and innovation,” as principles that have allowed Marcolin's portfolio of firms to grow in terms of “sophistication and excellence”.
All this thanks to a new collection of glasses for which, due to the success of that first line developed by Marcolin, Omega will expand its distribution channels. Turning to make it available both through independent retailers, as in their own stores and online channel. Spaces in which it will become available at the beginning of November 2019.
The first collection for Longines
In the case of the first collection for Longines developed by Marcolin, it will also reach stores from the beginning of November 2019. And it will do so in a selection of Longines boutiques from different parts of the world, as well as through the network of distribution of the Marcolin group.
A collection of glasses, both sun and sight, for men and women, inspired by the values and the characteristic air of sophistication of the Swiss watch firm. Designs that will “integrate seamlessly the know-how of the Swiss company”, completing and reflecting the diversity that exists in its watch collection, and that will be organized around three categories: 1) “Classic”, pieces of timeless lines. 2) "Heritage", inspired by the values and style of the brand. And 3) "Sport", where to find the most casual eyewear designs, defined by principles such as innovation and performance.
"Longines eyewear products carefully developed by the Marcolin Group are highly recognizable for their elegance and sporty design, and are designed for lovers of authenticity and exceptional quality," said Renon. "We are proud to have partnered with the Longines brand to transform its unmistakable legacy into sunglasses and eyeglasses," through "an extraordinary design" and an "impeccable fabrication."
