Standing at the top of its diving range.
Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega has updated its Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M for 2020, enhancing the already top-of-the-range diver for professional use.
Opting for a more subtle use of orange compared to its 2019 counterpart, the new timepiece features a blacked-out dial and corresponding ceramic dive bezel insert complemented by orange accents, such as the “Seamaster” and “600m/2000ft” inscriptions, the tip of the seconds hand, and the Arabic numeral indices at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. A date window sits neatly at 3 o’clock, working together with the other lumed indices to provide ample legibility. The stainless steel case itself measures in at a larger 43.5mm size standard for deep-sea divers, featuring a signed screw-down crown at 3 o’clock and a helium escape valve at 10. Powering the watch is an in-house Master Chronometer automatic Calibre Omega 8900 with Co-Axial escapement, carrying a power reserve of 60 hours and resistant to magnetic fields reaching up to 15,000 gauss. The watch is then sandwiched between a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating as well as a transparent caseback, nonetheless offering a staggering 600m of water resistance. Completing the look is a stainless steel bracelet or orange and black striped NATO.
