RIMOWA's New Eyewear Line Is Ideal for Stylish Travelers

Three styles of sleek frames designed to match the iconic aluminum suitcases.

Following its Pride Month campaign, RIMOWA has returned with a brand new sub-label: RIMOWA Eyewear. The luggage experts have imagined a new selection of sunglasses and optical glasses, all meant for daily wear and constant travel and designed to match its signature aluminum suitcases.

Broken into a trio of styles, each piece of the unisex RIMOWA Eyewear collection comes with a protective pouch and hardwearing details that can “withstand the rigours of travel,” a press release explains. Lightweight frames boast sleek shapes inspired by classic aviation styles — much like the RIMOWA suitcase grooves, which are inspired by aircraft fuselage — and elevated by colorful reflective lenses.

RIMOWA Bridge glasses feature two pieces of overlaid nylon and metal mask, attached by visible pins that mirror the industrial rivets that inform the luggage. Additional bulk is trimmed for an appreciable sleek silhouette. Meanwhile, RIMOWA Rim models offer a minimal facade, with acetate hand-applied to the lens to add a pop of tortoiseshell or muted black. Finally, RIMOWA Air is the optical line, with stock lenses ready to be swapped out for the wearer’s prescription.

Expect the entire Eyewear line to launch July 9 via RIMOWA’s website and select flagships across the globe. RIMOWA Air glasses will also be available at select opticians worldwide. The Bridge sunglasses weigh in from €270 EUR to €310 EUR (approximately $305 USD to $350 USD), the Rim sunglasses retail for €250 EUR (approximately $280 USD) and the Air frames will be €230 EUR (approximately $260 USD).
