Adidas has opened the first U.S.-only soccer-focused flagship store ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup’s kickoff this summer in North America.
The 9,000 square-foot store opened on Thursday at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, N.J. An official grand opening celebration will take place on Feb. 25 that will include athlete appearances, among other special events. The store cements the destination’s position as a hub for sports, culture and entertainment.
Adidas’ new store includes an immersive, soccer-driven retail experience that showcases the sport’s culture through premium athletic footwear, performance apparel and exclusive collections. Soccer enthusiasts can also find performance gear and Adidas Originals as well.
“As excitement around the World Cup continues to grow, American Dream is proud to welcome Adidas and a store concept that celebrates the global passion for soccer,” Adam Petrick, American Dream’s chief marketing officer, said. “This opening reinforces our commitment to bringing iconic brands and culturally relevant experiences to our guests, especially as the world turns its attention to the global game.”A
American Dream said the Adidas opening is part of a broader lineup of World Cup-related initiatives planned for the mall in 2026, all of which position it as a destination for sports fans and global events.
American Dream is a three-million square foot mall developed by Triple Five Group that is also home to attractions such as the DreamWorks Water Park, the Nickelodean Universe Theme Park and the Sea Life Aquarium, among others.
Separately, ahead of the World Cup, Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are bringing back their Y-3 “Beast Pact” boots from 2006, this time without the cleats as the shoe returns as thin-sole sneakers. Available in July, the pair of shoes are price at $300 each.
The athletic brand also made a capsule of sneakers for three countries: Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. The Adidas Gazelle Bringback pack relies on each country’s national kit aesthetics. Priced at $130 a pair and available at Dick’s Sporting Goods, all three sneakers include a translucent gum outsole, gold embossed branding and a heel pull using from each country its respective flag colors.
