MILAN — While the “Emily in Paris” cast relocated to Rome to shoot the episodes that premiered last week as part of the series’ fourth season, one of its lead actors was busy indulging in Italian fashion even off the set.
Ashley Park codesigned a capsule collection for Weekend Max Mara, bowing at Milan Fashion Week on Wednesday and to be celebrated with a cocktail at Giacomo Arengario on Saturday.
“The collaboration came up pretty natural as I had the chance to know the brand’s team at some of their major events over the past few years,” said Park, praising the label’s collections for being “feminine, refined, and perfect for every occasion, which is exactly what I also wanted to work on.”
Park said that timelessness, authenticity and craftsmanship also played a key role in shaping the collaboration as “they’ve been guiding principles every step of the way in our creative process.”
Dubbed “A Weekend With Ashley Park,” the collection was conceived to offer an approachable and versatile wardrobe targeting summer getaways via feminine designs with a retro feel, including hourglass shapes, full silhouettes and dainty details.

“I wanted to capture ‘Emily in Paris’’ glamorous spirit and translate it into a weekend collection that combines sophistication with a sense of well-being, comfort with chic poise,” said Park. “It was important for me to combine body-hugging lines with that ‘50s style silhouette. Striking and elevated while never compromising the comfort of lounging with that touch of Italian Dolce Vita.”
Mainly crafted from cotton, linen and denim, the lineup comprises frocks with off-the-shoulder necklines, halter tops, full skirts, cropped blouses and skinny pants, rendered in solids or adorned with floral motifs and arty checkered patterns.
Park listed a trenchcoat with a floral print evoking brushstrokes among her favorite pieces as it embodies the spirit of the collection by combining “high quality craftsmanship and a timeless trench silhouette.”
“The cotton linen dress with puff sleeves is also my personal favorite silhouette that I can’t wait to wear,” she added about a frock with the same motif.
To round out the collection, the actress included strappy sandals and mesh flat slingbacks embellished with pearls, and she revisited the brand’s hero Pasticcino bag mixing cotton canvas with a woven basket base.

Known also for starring in “Beef” and the “Only Murders in the Building” series, Park is the latest talent in a long string of Weekend Max Mara’s collaborators. Earlier this year the brand released a collection codesigned with actress Lucy Hale, while previously it tapped the likes of designer Arthur Arbesser; British stylist Kate Phelan; Lily Aldridge; architect and designer Patricia Urquiola; New York-based stylist and editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson; top model Alek Wek; American illustrator and pop artist Donald Robertson; Lucinda Chambers, former fashion director of British Vogue; Oscar-winning costume designer Gabriella Pescucci; American interior designer Anthony Baratta, and American artist Richard Saja.
Launched in 1983 as a casual outdoors weekend collection, the brand is part of the Max Mara Fashion Group’s portfolio and is available in about 250 monobrand stores and department stores globally.
