Bringing together the best bits from the CT-01 “Z Trainer” and CT-02.
Following the success of CELINE HOMME‘s CT-01 “Z Trainer” and CT-02 comes the all-new Hedi Slimane-designed CT-03.
The CT-01 and CT-02 debuted during the luxury fashion house’s SS21 runway show, “The Dancing Kid.” Then, a co-sign from Luka Sabbat for his issue of HYPEBEAST’s Sole Mates series further put these shoes on the map, bringing their elevated classic design into the spotlight.
Known for its nods to basketball and BMX scenes, the CT-01 features a cleaner overall silhouette as compared to the CT-02 because of strategic design elements such as the “floating” edges around the leather trims and its popular stark white leather uppers. As for the CT-02, there’s more going on, with the all-leather mid-top sneaker feature a collar cut-out, perforated padding underneath this, and a “malleolus bump” on the vamp.
Now, CELINE HOMME welcomes the CT-03 to the mix for the upcoming season, and it’s clear that this pair takes the best bits from both previous shoes and makes those its own. For example, it’s higher-cut like the Z Trainer, but it also features the branded strap over the laces that continues the CT-02’s language. The strap continues to become a full element that splits the shoe up, which is most evident in the black-and-orange pair.
All three shoes share key aesthetical signatures that bring them together, such as the glued and stitched sole unit construction that leads to a longer-lasting product, the mesh-lined tongues, and the textile-lined uppers that offer better breathability and flexibility.
CELINE HOMME’s CT-02 and CT-01 shoes retail for €620 EUR and €650 EUR respectively (approx. $750-790 USD) and are available now, while the CT-03 will also cost €650 EUR (around $790 USD) and is due to drop at CELINE stores and online on June 18.
