Dior Beauty Fêtes Its New L.A. Pop-Up With a Star-Studded Party

“Everything is blooming right now,” said Natalie Portman, basking in a springtime view of the Hollywood Hills on the rooftop of Dior’s new Miss Dior Millefiori Garden Fragrance pop-up on Friday night. “It’s super-inspiring for this environment,” she continued, referencing the sweet-scented, flower-filled mise en scène of the evening’s opening party, which channeled the Grasse, France set of the Oscar-winning actor’s Miss Dior campaign film. From the wafts of the new floral eau de parfum (an amber floral bouquet with notes of springy Lily of the Valley, lush peony, and powdery iris) to the vivid flower arrangements set throughout the two-floor space on L.A.’s Melrose Avenue, the soirée was a sensorial feast.

Upon entering the bright white space, guests—including Yara Shahidi, Lana Condor, and Alexandra Daddario—snapped mirror selfies in the immersive floral infinity room installation, sipped rose lattes at the Parisian-style cafe, and gave themselves touch-ups at a row of vanity-style beauty stations. Amid the activations, there were artworks by female artists that had been commissioned by Dior for their “Miss Dior: 12 Women Artists” on display, while the strapless “millefiori” floral-embroidered Miss Dior haute couture confection designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and worn by Portman in the campaign (it took 500 hours to craft in the atelier) was on view as well, fresh from the “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams” exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

Up the fluorescent neon pink steps on the rooftop, DJ Kitty Ca$h served up a galvanizing set, while partygoers mingled, sipped Champagne, and danced under the glow of violet-hued lights. Elsewhere, attendees, such as Shahidi and The White Lotus star Brittany O’Grady could be found at the photo booth, posing in front of a larger-than-life couture-bow-tied Miss Dior bottle replica. Expanding the magic of the Miss Dior world while getting West Hollywood abuzz with its well-dressed crowd, Dior helped kick off Oscar week as only the French fashion house can. For anyone else looking to be transported to the South of France through immersive art and fragrance, the whimsical Miss Dior Millefiori Garden Fragrance pop-up is open to the public today through Sunday.
