DISNEY X GIVENCHY LAUNCHES 101 DALMATIANS CAPSULE COLLECTION

The pups of the 1961 classic film are back for some luxury fun with new limited-edition collection and animation special, complete with a guest appearance from Kate Moss

There are 101 reasons to adore Givenchy, and V are about to give you one more— Introducing Disney x Givenchy 101 Dalmatians capsule collection, the second limited-edition collection between the two iconic names. Featuring the adorable animal stars of the 1961 animated film as they explore the City of Light, the collection offers a selection of ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, and jewelry, all with a cute, Parisian flair. And accessories are not all that Disney-lovers have to look forward to, the collection is fittingly paired with a custom animation from Walt Disney Animation Studios, featuring pups Pongo and Perdita, and a surprise appearance from supermodel Kate Moss.


Like the animated campaign short, where the Dalmatians romp through the city and spy on Givenchy window displays, the new collection is a playful recollection of the cheeky classic. Designed by Creative Director Matthew M. Williams and Disney, the capsule uses Disney prints on Givenchy staples, overlapping the 4G emblem and inserting pups onto the House’s landmark image on the Avenue George V in Paris. Cruella De Vil is also in tow, spotted shopping through Paris’ Golden Triangle and strolling past Givenchy’s Paris headquarters.



The brand’s signature visuals are not forgotten, of course. Givenchy lettering and structured silhouettes merge the worlds of luxury and fantasy, with pups displayed across shoes, shorts, and hoodies. Less obvious symbolism uses color to combine these worlds, with shaggy black spots overlaying cream zip-up and pants set. Accessories consist of collar necklaces with G-locks, wallets, and caps, complete with imagery of each beloved character.




“To have the opportunity to tell a story and create new animation with the characters from 101 Dalmatians, through the imaginative and playful lens of the House of Givenchy, was an absolute dream,” said Eric Goldberg, the director and 2D animator of the collection’s custom animation, amongst many other acclaimed Disney films. “It was a true delight to collaborate with such talented creators to bring these beloved characters back to life in such a unique way”.




The limited-edition capsule collection can be found exclusively in the US at Nordstrom, with prices ranging from $320 to $5,320.
