Fendi F/W '24 : A Fiesta for the Siesta

In January of this year, Fendi unveiled its men's Autumn/Winter 2024/25 collection in Italy, offering a glimpse of two innovative convertible bags, the Melon and the Siesta. Today, the highly anticipated Siesta bag makes its debut, available both in stores and online, in three distinct sizes.

The name "Siesta" evokes the idea of a refreshing afternoon nap, taken during the "sixth hour from sunrise." Much like its namesake, the Siesta bag is a rejuvenating and timeless piece, exuding both beauty and a playful charm. It’s a versatile accessory that, like the siesta itself, is something many might find essential, while others will see it as an irresistible luxury—an inexhaustible want.

Imbued with the hallmark Italian craftsmanship that Fendi is known for, the Siesta bag also carries an air of exclusivity and intrigue. This contemporary take on a classic Fendi silhouette includes a special touch—a silver tag featuring a unique serial number. The label reads "FENDI Selleria - Lavorazione a mano - Serie numerata," which translates to "FENDI Selleria - Handmade craftsmanship - Numbered series," alongside the year 1925, when Adele and Edoardo Fendi founded the brand.

The Siesta bag reinterprets the traditional duffle bag, transforming into a pillow-like shape through four ring closures on each corner. Its intricate stitching and soft silhouette make it a practical yet luxurious accessory. The bag is offered a range of earthy tones, including versatile coal, lush forest green, warm beige, and a striking deep blue. Additionally, there is a special Eclissi fabric variation—a handmade gradient in tobacco and black, featuring the iconic FF - Fendi jacquard pattern.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Siesta bag offers ample space within each size, making it not only a statement piece but also a functional companion. Whether worn as a duffle, a shoulder/cross-body bag, or uniquely as a pillow, the Siesta adapts effortlessly to any style or occasion. Personally, I'd opt for the large size, carried in its pillow form, because sometimes, you just might need to take that afternoon siesta on your Fendi Siesta.
