Supporting the rapper’s upcoming album, out October 8.
Ahead of Don Toliver‘s LIFE OF A DON album release on Friday, October 8, GUESS (NYSE:GES +0.20%) Originals has collaborated with the rapper on a limited-edition merch capsule for the upcoming record.
“I’ve personally been a fan of Don Toliver’s music since he started working with Travis Scott and Cactus Jack,” said Nicolai Marciano, director of brand partnerships at Guess. “Creatively, I really respect and align with what Don Toliver is doing and this felt like the right time to partner on creating merch and supporting his new album, LIFE OF A DON.”
The collection includes a selection of grey and black hoodies and long-sleeve shirts as well as a pair of embroidered jeans. The french terry hoodies feature a slightly oversized, boxy fit, with a “GUESS Who?” embroidery on the center chest and artwork boasting the album’s tracklist in varying fonts on the back. Meanwhile, the long-sleeve shirts drape in a similarly oversized fashion, with the same “GUESS Who?” iconography on the front upper right quadrant and a play on the brand’s triangular motif with Toliver’s album title.
Rounding out the range, the light-wash denim jeans employ a relaxed bootcut fit with embroidery on both the front and back. A gothic-inspired design lands on the bottom of both front legs in a mirrored style, while Guess’s colorful emblem claims the back waistband and the aforementioned triangular LIFE OF A DON motif resides on the back right pocket.
“The collaboration plays off a new “GUESS Who?” graphic we created specifically for Don and is featured on the long sleeve tees,” Marciaco added. “The hoodie was constructed from scratch with specifications that Don requested, cropped length and oversized hood. The fit of the jeans came out of my personal archive and we tailored it for Don and added details that tied back to the album.”
The collection will be available for pre-sale during Guess’ pop-up event in New York City at 393 Broadway between Walker and White Street on Wednesday, October 5. The line will then be available for purchase on Guess’ website in tandem with the album’s release on October 8. Price details have not yet been disclosed.
