Christian Louboutin has landed in Austin, Texas.
Located at The Domain shopping center, the new 2,500-sq.-ft. boutique is the French luxury footwear brand’s first store in Austin and will carry its offering of men’s and women’s shoes, leather goods, accessories, Christian Louboutin Beaute, and Christian Louboutin’s newly launched eyewear category.
In celebration of the opening, the Austin boutique will also house an exclusive capsule of nine women’s shoes and accessories that “blend Parisian elegance with Texan spirit,” the company said. Building on the success of Louboutin’s Giddy Up collection, highlights include the Désirée boot, the Santia Fringe boot, and Kenny’s Hat — the brand’s couture take on a classic cowboy hat.
According to the company, the new boutique is conceived as an homage to Christian Louboutin’s eclectic Paris apartment, with two distinct environments in mind – a luminous daytime lounge and an evening living room.
Paying homage to the Louboutin’s signature house codes, clients are welcomed by the striking red scale tiles that grace the façade, alongside the iconic red carpets edged with bespoke porcelain tiles that crafted in France.
Plus, a custom Art-Deco inspired piece, sourced from Paris and designed by artist Gregory Lewis, anchors one of the boutique’s main walls.
Louboutin’s latest opening comes months after the French label remodeled its Madison Avenue flagship in New York City. After months of renovations, the 4,000-sq.-ft. boutique, which first opened in 2015 at 965-967 Madison Avenue, was reopened to clients in December.
The company said at the time that the boutique was reimagined to reflect the legendary footwear designer’s love for Egypt and the spirit of a seaside holiday, with touches that feel like stepping into the inviting home of a cherished friend.
“The boutiques should look like a living room where people do not feel like they are in a store but in the home of a friend, who loves them and knows them well,” Mr. Louboutin said in a statement at the time.
The designer shoe label has also been in the news the last few months for the debut of its new “Miss Z” model.
Featuring a slightly elongated toe and demure décolleté, the Miss Z is characterized by a somewhat expanded toe box to give the wearer’s feet more room in the front. This is combined with a new padded insole that ensures a more comfortable wearing experience.
What’s more Louboutin has introduced the “everlasting red sole,” a new coated finish that will be used on the Miss Z pump in lieu of the brand’s tradition red lacquer leather sole. According to the company, the polished finish of its famous red is given much-extended durability, and the process provides anti-slip grip on the ground for the wearer.
