Josh O’Connor Is The Face Of Eye/Loewe/Nature’s SS21 Collection

Loewe introduces the spring/summer 2021 collection for its sub-label Eye/Loewe/Nature, with a campaign featuring “The Crown” star Josh O’Connor

Loewe’s sub-label is taking its new lineup to the desert, demonstrating theversatility of its new organic and upcycled wearables. The collection’s lookbook is set in the deserts of Baja California, Mexico, was shot by Gray Sorrenti and features actor Josh O’Connor.

“Nature is integral to my Loewe vision,” says creative director Jonathan Anderson in a statement, as quoted in Hypebeast. “The great outdoors, the wilderness even, offers both context and stimuli for what we do. In the case of Eye/Loewe/Nature, nature is also the ideal backdrop to a collection of pragmatic pieces, both technical and crafty, from outerwear and T-shirts to shoes and accessories, designed for enjoying life outside.”

The brand’s main focus with this collection is sustainability. Created with an eco-consciousness in mind, the loose-cut T-shirts, quilt-laden parkas and hooded jackets crafted from vintage parachutes are all imbued with a sense of lightness and breathability, equally suited to the hot desert as they are to a shaded pavilion. Recycled nylon appears throughout the collection, informing a series of packable backs that match various totes and shoulder bags cut from quilted jacket liners. Convertible slip-on shoes offer nomadic contrast to richly tie-dyed layering pieces, cozy bucket hats and chunky sunglasses that reinforce the seasonal collection’s contemporary bent.

The brand’s commitment to eco-friendliness doesn’t just stop at design. Loewe is collaborating with Fundación Global Nature and donating €15 for every product sold from this collection to restore natural habitats for endangered species.
