Max Mara Resort 2023: Inspired by a Passionate Woman

Max Mara is always about luxurious textures, minimalist silhouettes, and sophisticated monochromes. Yet for springtime, the acclaimed fashion house took it a notch up presenting elegant motifs and embellishments that add some well-deserved spice to the mix.

The little dazzling elements on outerwear and knits, the graphic prints, and the incredibly chic logo of the brand modernize the stylish offerings of the brand. The Max Mara Resort 2023 fashion show took place in the lush gardens of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon with the presence of all important editors, fashion insiders, and influencers.

As mentioned on the website, among the Foundation’s treasures is a painting by Nikias Skapinakis of the poet Natália Correia who inspired the Resort collection. Her strong and vibrant personality was at the epicenter of Portuguese cultural life in the 1970s and 80s. Correia embodies seductive and unconventional femininity. With this collection, Max Mara pays homage to Portuguese culture – from the haunting melodies of fado, music of love and passion to the Lenços de namorados do Minho, “handkerchiefs of lovers”. In tribute, Max Mara delivers its own powerful message of passion: “Vai lenço feliz” .

I loved the camels, nudes, blacks, and whites but also elegant shades of purple, blue, green, and yellow in monochromes and patterns. Maxi, flared dresses and skirts, cropped sweaters, roomy coats, fishnet tights, pleating, and poetic lettering are all luxurious and dreamy in a powerful, imposing sense.
