SECOND TIME: Max Mara is planning to hold its resort show in Shanghai on June 16. Details of the precise location in the Chinese city are still under wraps.
The show will take place on the first day of the international menswear trade show Pitti Uomo, which will kick off in Florence and run until June 19, followed by the men’s shows for spring 2027 in Milan to be held June 19 to 23.
This year Max Mara staged a two-day resort experience, which included a runway show, in Naples on June 16 and 17. The show was held at the Reggia di Caserta on the second day. Among the celebrities attending the show were Sharon Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joey King and Zhu Zhu.
This will be the second time Max Mara will show in the Chinese city. The brand held its pre-fall 2017 and capsule collections at the Shanghai Exhibition Center in December 2016. The event, titled “Monopolis!,” took place on a set made up of sculptures and installations designed by Chinese contemporary artists, who also collaborated with the brand on an 11-piece limited-edition capsule collection.
In 2008, Max Mara held its spring 2009 collection and Sportmax collections runway show at Beijing’s Water Dam, as well as a retrospective dubbed “Coats!” of 30 coats styled on models donning Chinese dresses and ornamental hair pieces.
Starting with the 2015 pre-fall season, Max Mara has staged runway shows in New York, London, Venice, Stockholm and Berlin.
As reported, Gucci‘s artistic director Demna has selected New York to present the brand’s cruise show on May 16, followed by Louis Vuitton in the same city on May 20. Dior shared that its destination show is scheduled for May 13 in Los Angeles.
