From the previous design director of Yeezy Gap.
After partnering with New Balance for a pair of 90/60 sneakers in two colorways, Mowalola Ogunlesi’s eponymous label Mowalola now teases a pair of Timberland boots as its next footwear collaboration
After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2017, Mowalola chose to forego her master’s degree to focus on growing her label — holding her second-ever fashion show for Fall/Winter 2019 in London. The loud, provocative, and uncompromising aesthetic of her designs quickly caught on as figures such as Drake, Skepta, and Naomi Campbell were spotted wearing her pieces. In 2020, the Nigerian-born, London-based designer was appointed design director for Ye‘s venture with GAP before stepping down to focus once again on her personal label.
As Timberland readies its 2023 collaborations with the likes of Stüssy as well as Edison Chen, Samuel Ross, Nina Chanel Abney, Humberto Leon, Suzanne Oude Hengel, and Christopher Raeburn for the Super73 initiative, Mowalola inserts itself into the mix with classic Timberland 6-inch boots featuring New York Yankees logo perforations across the toe box and laterals.
The Mowalola x Timberland boots are expected to launch this Saturday, February 18. Stay tuned for more details.
