Pharrell’s New Adidas Jellyfish Sneaker Just Launched With a Raffle That’s Open Now

Pharrell Williams and Adidas are nearing the launch of one of the year’s most anticipated sneakers, the Virginia Adistar Jellyfish. With Adidas teasing Thursday a forthcoming release, a raffle for the collaboration is open now through the e-commerce store of Williams’ new creative platform dubbed Virginia.
A homage to his hometown of Virginia Beach, Pharrell’s debut Virginia collection includes T-shirts and beach-themed gear such as umbrellas, coolers, beach balls and even a $1,200 surfboard. But for sneaker fans, the highlight is the first wide release of the Pharrell x Adidas Virginia Adistar Jellyfish in its debut Focus Olive/Core Black/Orange colorway.
“Crafted with a cold cement construction and a tailored fit, this shoe offers a quiet statement in comfort and composure,” reads the Virginia sneaker’s product description. “No overt tech: just form, flow, and Pharrell’s signature human approach to design.”

The shoe’s textile and synthetic upper is entirely leather-free and features exaggerated panels which jut out and extend similarly to the tentacles of the sea animal it gets its name from. Using the retro Adistar Cushion model as its base, Pharrell’s vision of the shoe has had its proportions pushed to the extreme, resulting in a bulky aesthetic that has drawn comparisons to Balenciaga’s influential Triple S sneaker.
Along with the Virginia Adistar Jellyfish sneaker, the store includes apparel priced from $50 to $68. As of publishing, some of the limited-edition items are already listed as sold out.

Beyond product, the just-launched Virginia platform will be home to new music releases, events and more. The Virginia brand is the latest venture from Williams, who in 2022 launched the Joopiter digital auction marketplace and was named men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton in 2023.
While a secondary launch is still to come Aug. 23 via Adidas’ Confirmed app, the initial raffle for the Pharrell Williams x Adidas Virginia Adistar Jellyfish sneaker is open now at blackyachtrock.com. The sneakers are priced at $300 and have a limit of one per customer. An end date for the raffle has not yet been announced.
