Super Bowl splurge! A hat brand is selling a limited-edition NFL cap embellished with real sapphires

An athletic cap brand is selling a special limited-edition Super Bowl cap — that costs more than a ticket to the game itself.

Ahead of the face-off between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, New Era has announced its limited edition New Era x Super Bowl LIII Women's cap.

Covered in crushed velvet and embellished with an NFL shield made of real sapphires and rubies, the hats are selling for $5,300 each — which is a few thousand dollars more than the least expensive Super Bowl tickets currently on StubHub.

Flashy! It features an NFL Shield pin embellished with glittering sapphires and rubies cut by Swarovski

The cap has a crushed velvet on the outside and a satin interior, and the front boasts a glitzy NFL Shield pin.

The pin is embellished with glittering sapphires and rubies that were cut by Swarovski.

Meanwhile on StubHub, a single ticket for the game itself can be bought for $2,950.

This isn't the first time that Swarovski-embellished NFL gear has gone on sale before the Super Bowl.

In 2012, Marchesa's Georgina Chapman did a limited edition collaboration with the league and designed a $110 crystal-studded Jets T-shirt.

And in honor of fiftieth Super Bowl in 2016, the NFL asked the Council of Fashion Designers of America to decorate footballs raise money for the league's charitable foundation.

Participants included Rebecca Minkoff, Nicole Miller, Betsey Johnson, Tiffany & Co., Rachel Roy, Kenneth Cole, Marchesa, Rachel Zoe, and Tanya Taylor, with several bedazzling their pigskins.
