Announcing their partnership, Thélios and Dior unveiled the first collection designed through the collaboration
The LVMH eyewear brand, Thélios, and luxury fashion brand, Dior, have announced a partnership to develop Dior eyewear, as the first of the collections becomes available.
The partnership, which began this month, will involve the creation, manufacture, and worldwide distribution of Dior eyewear.
The first of the Dior eyewear collections designed with Thélios include the 2021 cruise and 2021 spring-summer ready-to-wear lines, and are now available in Dior boutiques, as well as through Thélios’ distribution network.
In a statement, the companies said the partnership marked “the culmination of an ambitious vision, and a mutual commitment in the name of excellence.”
“From design to manufacturing, visual merchandising and retail, Dior and Thélios will combine their talents to enrich the customer experience,” the statement continued.
Thélios is part of the LVMH Group and produces sunglasses and optical frames for several luxury fashion brands, including Stella McCartney, Loewe, Fenty and Rimowa.
The Dior 2021 Spring-Summer collection for women combines minimalist metal frames, with bold and oversized shapes, incorporating details from the fashion house’s ready-to-wear collections, such as the ‘CD’ logo on the ’30 Montaigne’ bag, and the signature ‘Christian Dior’ from the ‘Book Tote.’
The collection includes 10 models, including the ‘Ultradior’ (pictured below), an oversized, frameless model with tinted lenses, rounded curves, signature rivets and a subtle ‘Christian Dior’ logo.
Frames also include the ‘Everdior’ rounded metal frames with engraved metal coil detailing and a hand-applied lacquer coating, and the ‘Montaigne’ oversize square frames with an ultra-matte pink acetate frame and grey lenses.
The men’s collection also features details from the fashion house, such as the ‘CD’ logo, the ‘Dior Oblique’ motif, and the ‘Dior stitching’ from the tailoring department. Silhouettes aim to balance fashionable, timeless and sporty designs.
The collection includes eight frames, including the ‘Diortag’ sunglasses (pictured) in a rectangular shape with an acetate frame that plays on transparency and colours, while the ‘Dior Blacksuit’ model is from the ‘DioBlackSuit’ line, but introduces a new signature hinge inspired by Dior Men’s tailoring.
