LONGARONE, 29 December 2020 - Thélios , a reality specialized in eyewear from the world leader in luxury LVMH, has obtained UL- Underwriters Laboratories validation for Stella McCartney's spring / summer 2021 collection which uses alternative raw materials with a lower impact on the environment .

UL, an independent global leader in certification for safety, personal protection and sustainability, has certified the limited environmental impact of the eyewear developed by Thélios for Maison Stella McCartney, assigning the Environmental Claim Validation (ECV) to the collection. In fact, the bio-lenses are made up of 40% castor oil and, moreover, the frames use an environmentally friendly version of bio-acetate that derives 68% from wood and cotton fibers and plasticizers of natural origin.

The ECV confirms the validity of Thélios' statements regarding the composition, the recyclability of the product and its safety.

Inspired by the Maison's iconic bags, the cases are also plant-based and sustainable. Together with all the other packaging elements, they are in fact made with recycled and biodegradable materials such as PVB or polyester.

The eco-friendly collection by Thélios for Stella McCartney is in line with the objectives of the exclusive long-term partnership announced in July 2020 between the designer, very committed on the environmental front, and Thélios.
