These chic Coachella shoes are set to become wedding season favorites

If you had told me just a few days ago that I would find wedding shoe inspiration at Coachella, I would not have believed you. Aren’t sand and festival vibes the complete opposite of the elegance we expect from wedding outfits, whether we are attending as a guest or as the bride? And yet, yesterday, while rewatching a video of Olivia Rodrigo performing her new song drop dead with Addison Rae, I noticed that the musician was wearing shoes that are not exactly typical of her fairly punk style. Olivia’s new era is much softer than the previous ones, which naturally reflects in her fashion choices as well, but these shoes surprised me in particular because I remembered seeing the exact same pair just a day earlier, this time on Sabrina Carpenter.
Olivia Rodrigo swapped her signature Dr. Martens boots for Mary Jane shoes, but not just any pair. She chose the red-soled version by fashion house Christian Louboutin. On the other hand, Sabrina Carpenter also chose the exact same shoes as Olivia Rodrigo for her Coachella performance, and for those who are chronically online, the significance of that overlap will be especially clear. These chic shoes are part of her signature aesthetic, one rooted in the wardrobes of vintage dolls. Throughout her career, and especially during the Short n’ Sweet tour, the star has worn numerous custom-made Louboutin shoes, with the most recognizable probably being the silver glitter pairs she styled with equally dazzling corsets. For Coachella, however, she opted for simple white Mary Jane shoes with red soles, confirming their popularity once again.
